Outer Fashion Fabric
These Fashion Fabrics deliver style while bringing out the personalities of the wearers, lending themselves to all kinds of looksâfrom bohemian to preppy to punk rock. Made of 100% heavy-duty Cotton, they create durable outer layers and allow for additional embellishment.
Made from 100% Cotton, these Lining Fabrics provide excellent wear and designing ease for constructing your own pair of Dritz Espadrilles.
After fabric selections, decide whether you want to use a coordinating or contrasting thread to create your unique espadrilles. For that extra personalization, these 100% Cotton yarns come in seven basic colors.
Providing additional support and strength, the stabilizer provides a layer of strength and steadiness between the lining and outer fabric and helps reinforce the toe and heelâareas of shoes that typically take the most pressure from activities. . The light beige hue adds enough color to keep light fabrics from being see-through but not enough color to be seen.
After sewing the outer and lining fabrics together to create your toe and heel/side sections, youâll need to turn them from the wrong sides to the right sides. The point turner helps you tuck and smooth the corners and seams after turning, and before ironing, to give you a more comfortable wear and professional finish.
Glass Head Pins
The 4.5 mm glass heads make these pins easier to hold and position. The green color provides contrast against most fabrics, causing them to be better seen. Extra-strong 0.7 millimeter shafts of nickel-plated steel allow them to penetrate multiple layers of fabric, and at 1-7/8 inch, the longer length makes it easier to attach fabric to the soles.
This assortment of needles provides both curved and straight needles, allowing you to choose the needle you're most comfortable using. Test and select the needle shape of your choice.
The yarn is thick. There are multiple layers of fabric, and the soles are very dense. The yarn wax coats the yarn so that it moves more easily when stitching the fabric to the soles. Before stitching, you can run the yarn through the wax container more than once. Barely pressing the waxed thread with a hot iron will help reduce tangles. You can also re-apply wax while stitching.
In sizes Medium and Large, use one of these needle pullers on a thumb, or use both on a finger and thumb to grip and pull needles. Created to stay securely on while working, these pullers feature holes to allow 'breathing' and open ends to accommodate fingernails.
